Energy control company x Connected services merge & Rebrand
This was live client work. My team had the winning pitch.
The Task:
Energy Control Company (ECC) and Connected Services (CS) are merging together and are in need of a complete re-vamp. ECC has maxed out their C-Suite connections and in search of a new target audience.
THE PROBLEM:
ECC & CS are missing out a true goldmine and untapped source- millennial business owners.
research methods:
Secondary research on millennial business owners in the greater Richmond area (millennial business owner stats, new start-up firm rates, annual millennial income). Qualitative research included interviews with multiple millennial business owners to find out more about their operation expesnses.
The Strategy:
Find out what millennial business owners would do with 20% savings from their operation expenses (because that is what ECC does). ECC implements real-time energy accounting software, continuously monitors building projects, provides energy savings and delivers monthly investment grade energy reports. Targeting small businesses that are owned by millennials provide several opportunities to educate on energy efficiency, create trust and familiarity, and offering a sure way to keep their businesses running smoothly and lowering operation expenses by purchasing ECC+CS products/services.
OUR CONCEPT:
Create an emotional campaign of the stories millennial business owners shared discussing how they would use their 20% savings from operating expenses to create a positive impact. Millennials love emotion, and chances are these business owners key decision makers or top influencers are in fact millennials.
social:

Website
Sleek and minimalistic to create a more millennial look. The previous site was very overwhelming and confusing with information. Attempted to narrow it down with the most crucial substances.

Logo
Simple logo combining both energy and technological aspects by creating a circuit board aesthetic with leaves. Circuit boards have led to new engineering and manufacturing methods.

App Portal
By creating an app feature for Simple Services, it will remove all the unwanted work orders, creepy maintenance guys, and having to sit around all day waiting for them to arrive. Also with the app, customers can now choose their maintenance person by preference, select their availability, see the money they are saving, and even pay through the app. Talk about accesibility!
With targeting millennials, Instagram is the most used social platform, with Facebook as a close second. We created Instagram Story Ads with the emotional story behind them to lure consumers into Simple Services products. We also created an Instagram Story Video Ad, as more users are likely to watch a video all the way through rather than clicking through a photo.
